The magnetic storm on September 12, despite its weak magnitude and relatively short duration, led to auroras over the territory of Russia, reports the Laboratory of X-ray Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The aurora began around 18:00 Moscow time and lasted until 21:00.
The most intense glow occurred in the latitude region of about 70 degrees, that is, significantly north of cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg.
