Chernyshenko invited club teams from all over the world to the “Games of the Future”

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) invited club teams from all over the world to take part in the first world multi-sport tournament “Games of the Future”, which will take place next year in Kazan. The press service of the tournament reported this.

“I would like to note that the government, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, will continue to create international competitions of new formats based on the principles of fairness and healthy competition. We invite club teams from all over the world to the Games of the Future,” Chernyshenko said.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the high-tech phygital direction has already involved athletes from 38 countries. The All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports was created in Russia, whose regional branches operate in 60 regions of the country. The Ministry of Sports officially recognized fidget sports in January, Chernyshenko recalled.

“Research shows that already 66% of Russians surveyed know and support fidget sports. Other states are actively joining this movement. Already 15 countries have signed an agreement and are developing physical sports on four continents,” Chernyshenko said.

The press service of the tournament added that the dates of open qualifications are September 21, 22, 29 and 30, and any team can take part in them.

The Games of the Future combine physical and digital competition and are divided into five categories: sport, tactics, strategy, technology and speed. Project manager Igor Stolyarov previously announced during WEFthat the program will include additional disciplines, there will be 21 in total. For the first time, the tournament will take place from February 23 to March 2, 2024 in Kazan. The competition has international status.

In total, about 2,000 athletes in 256 teams are expected to take part in the Future Games. 160 teams from 22 countries, including China, Latvia, Brazil and others, took part in the qualifying competitions for the tournament, Chernyshenko said earlier.
