The Laboratory of Solar X-Ray Astronomy of the Institute for Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported a magnetic storm of level G2.
The geomagnetic storm began around midnight, and after some time reached the G2 level. In May, there were two storms of the same level, but judging by the published charts, the new storm was somewhat more powerful.
As an assumed reason for the increase in geomagnetic activity, astrophysicists name the flow of the fast solar wind.
