Astrophysicists estimate the probability of a magnetic storm on March 9 at 25%
The Laboratory of X-ray Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that the probability of a magnetic storm on March 8, 2024 is 20 percent, and on March 9 – 25 percent.
The probability of a powerful geomagnetic storm on each of the two days will be 5 percent.
No magnetic storms are expected in mid-March.
