Astronomers predict when the sun will die

Specialists of the European Space Agency (ESA) as part of the Gaia Milky Way project have mapped the life of the Sun and told when it will die.
Our Sun belongs to the class of yellow dwarfs. It is currently 4.57 billion years old and has a temperature of 5772 kelvins. Astronomers have studied similar stars with low temperatures between 3,000 and 10,000 kelvins. Such stars are usually smaller in size, but live longer.
According to experts, the temperature of the Sun will reach its peak at the age of about 8 billion years, then it will turn into a red giant star (at the age of 10 to 11 billion years).
Eventually, the Sun will run out of hydrogen needed for fusion in the core, after which it will die.
Astronomers have noted that the brightness of the sun increases by 10 percent every billion years. This leads to an increase in the temperature of the star and the Earth. Such changes will make our planet uninhabitable.
