The preliminary design of the Russian Orbital Station is underway. Most likely, it will be located in a high-latitude (polar) orbit with an inclination of 97 °, which will expand the possibilities for reviewing the entire territory of Russia.
The ex-general director of Roscosmos Rogozin, in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel, said that the state corporation had decided on the main characteristics of the new station.

The national Russian orbital station will be created on the basis of the modules originally intended for the ISS: NEM, MLM and UM (the last two are analogues of the ISS modules launched in 2021), then two more modules will be added: Gateway (SHM) and Transformable (TM). Thus, the total station will consist of five modules, its weight will be 60 tons.
The station is planned for the first time in the history of terrestrial OS to be put into a high-latitude orbit so that it can work in the interests of Russia, covering the entire globe, including the Arctic, with its trajectory. To do this, you will have to increase energy consumption during launch into orbit and increase the level of radiation during the flight of the station through the polar regions
