The court limited the legal capacity of 88-year-old Alain Delon

French actor Alain Delon was found partially competent by a court decision. For this reason, he is, in particular, prohibited from disposing of real estate: responsibility for such actions rests with a court-appointed representative. The special representative will also have to help Delon with medical care.

The lawyer for the actor’s daughter Anushka Delon said that this court decision is “very happy.”

Alain Delon announced his retirement in 2017. In 2019, he suffered a stroke, after which allegations repeatedly appeared in the media about the incomplete recovery of the artist’s mental state, partially confirmed by those around him.

Over the past few years, a dispute over inheritance has been ongoing in the actor’s family, which arose due to Delon’s desire to bequeath most of his fortune to his daughter, which is disputed by his two sons. Anushka Delon lives in Switzerland and previously claimed that she wanted her father to move to her for treatment, but not at all to hide inheritance taxes from French laws. The actor’s youngest son, Alain-Fabien Delon, later stated that the dispute with his sister was not related to the inheritance and that he and his brother agreed with his father’s will to give his daughter 50% and his sons 25% of all property. According to the younger heir, he is in litigation with his sister only to protect his father’s interests. Thus, the actor’s youngest son claims that his father wanted to spend the last days of his life in France, and his sister allegedly wants to take him away for selfish reasons. In early January, Alain-Fabien Delon filed a lawsuit against Anouchka Delon, accusing her of abusing her father’s weakness and misleading him.
