How reports The Wall Street Journal newspaper, informed sources admitted that the reason for the depressurization of the Boeing 737 MAX 9 airliner of Alaska Airlines could be the complete lack of bolts for fastening the door plug of the emergency exit hatch, and therefore it flew out during the flight.

A Boeing passenger flying from Portland to Ontario was forced to return to its departure airport and make an emergency landing due to a broken plug. “The supplier delivered the aircraft fuselage to the Boeing plant in Renton with the door plug installed… But workers during final assembly reinstalled the plug and may have forgotten to tighten the bolts,” the publication writes.
It is also reported that the Alaska plug itself was manufactured at a Malaysian factory and had no markings on it.
