Social advertising calling for adopting animals from shelters is actually childfree propaganda in disguise. About it stated children’s ombudsman of Tatarstan Irina Volynets.
In her opinion, young families who have adopted a cat or a dog will no longer want to have children. These calls are a threat to the “demographic situation of the country.”
“I don’t understand why time is wasted advertising that animals need to be adopted from a shelter. But at the same time, we do not see posters depicting a happy large family, where it is written that the family is the best place in the world,” Volynets said.
According to her, only those people who already have children can have animals. Volynets spoke about a young couple who adopted a dog from a shelter. They did not begin to have a child, since they already have an “object” that unites them.
The Ombudswoman emphasized that referring to animals as “son or daughter” is a substitution of concepts. Therefore, you need to take a dog or a cat not instead of a child, but for him.
She cited her own family as an example. Volynets and her husband have four children. A dog, a cat, a bird and a rat live in the house. Animals help parents teach their children to care for someone else and instill in them mercy.
