Actor Valery Ivchenko has passed away



Actor Valery Ivchenko died in St. Petersburg at the age of 85. This was reported in the telegram channel of the Bolshoi Drama Theater (BDT) named after Tovstonogov.

People's Artist of Russia and Ukraine passed away on March 2.

Ivchenko was born in Kupyansk, Kharkov region. Graduated from the directing department of the Kyiv State Institute of Theater Arts. Karpenko-Kary. From 1960 to 1983 he worked in Ukrainian theaters, in 1983 he joined the BDT troupe.

In recent years, he took part in two productions of the Bolshoi Drama Theater: “Alice” by Andrei Moguchy based on the works of Lewis Carroll and in his own one-man show “The Meek One”, based on the work of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Ivchenko also played in the films “Cyrano de Bergerac”, “Freeze, Die, Resurrect”, the TV series “Mole 2” and “Brezhnev”.
