About 80 snowboarders entered the fight for the awards of the Far East competitions on Sakhalin

Snowboard championship and championship of the Far Eastern Federal District started in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. More than 80 athletes representing the Kamchatka and Primorsky Territories, as well as the Sakhalin Region, entered the fight for the awards of the competition. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.

Our region is hosting Far Eastern competitions for the third time, so I’m sure many of you already know what to expect from the Mountain Air tracks and how to show a decent result during the races. I wish you to show your maximum and may the strongest win! – advised the leading adviser of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Regional Ministry of Sports Yulia Svyataya.

On the first day of the competition, the snowboarders competed in the parallel giant slalom.

According to the results of the competition, the winners in their age groups were Victoria Kudryavtseva from Sakhalin (the sum of the time of the two final races was 1:38.24 seconds), Taisya Zheltova (1:26.46), Kristina Zaitseva (1:24.94), David Dubrovsky (1 :30.46), Igor Nadyrshin (1:17.21) and snowboarder Mikhail Tarabanko (1:13.03).

“In general, I am satisfied with my rides. He fell at the beginning of the first descent, but quickly got up and was able to finish first – he showed about 38 seconds. If not for the fall, the result would have been even better for three or four seconds, ”Igor Nadyrshin shared his emotions.

The FEFD snowboard championship and championship will continue on January 20. Athletes will show their strength in the slalom. Start at 10:00.

“These Far Eastern starts are the first in a series of major snowboard competitions this season. In February, we will also host the championship and championship of the Far Eastern Federal District in acrobatic disciplines, as well as the championship and Cup of Russia in parallel disciplines,” said Olga Zheltova, head of the Sakhalin branch of the Russian Snowboard Federation.
