The Minister of Sports of the Sakhalin Region Artem Podshivalov met with the participants of all four stages of the Decade of Sports and Health 2023, who won the free pass draw. This was reported in the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
“They put their strength to the test in the Ski Run, New Year’s Track and Field Run, Christmas Slalom Alpine Skiing and the Christmas Parallel Snowboarding. Thus, 21 lovers of an active lifestyle participated in all disciplines. Among them, gifts were raffled off live from the partners of the event and the regional Ministry of Sports, the main of which were four free passes for free admission to the sports facilities of the island region. Among them are the wind tunnel of the secondary school for technical sports, the Gorny Vozdukh STK, the fitness center of the Vostok training center, the swimming pool of the water sports school, and many others.
“This year, the Decade of Sports brought together more than 400 Sakhalin residents and guests of the region. It is gratifying to see that the number of participants at all stages of the event is growing – last year only two Sakhalin residents passed all four disciplines, and this year – 21. I want to thank you for your concern for a healthy lifestyle and present well-deserved awards. I am sure that thanks to your example, even more sports fans will join our Decade next year. I invite you to our other no less interesting events of this season – the Trinity Ski Marathon, the Russian Ski Track and the Sakhalin Ski Marathon in memory of Farkhutdinov,” said Artem Podshivalov.
Free pass holders were Irina Duvanova, Anzhelika Popivnich, Eduard Zainullin and Maria Pilenko.
“For me, this is already the second Decade of Sports – I also participated in 2022, but only in the Christmas Slalom. This time I decided to test my strength in all stages. The most difficult thing was to perform cross-country skiing – endurance is required there. I also don’t know how to snowboard, but I successfully managed to cover the entire distance. And in athletics she was able to take second place. Next year, I will definitely take part in the Decade of Sports and Health again,” 12-year-old Maria Pilenko shared the details.
