A yellow alert level has been announced in Moscow due to wind and ice

The hydrometeorological center announced a yellow level of weather danger in Moscow and the Moscow region due to wind and icy conditions. The regime will be in effect until noon on December 5.

“The degree of intensity of hazardous phenomena: yellow – the weather is potentially dangerous,” it is reported on website Hydrometeorological center. Wind gusts can reach 16 meters per second.

This morning, according to the Yandex Schedules board, at least 54 flights were delayed and five more were canceled at Moscow airports Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo.

As Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, told TASS, 60% of Russia will experience abnormal cold in the coming days. In the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk regions, Altai Territory, and the Altai Republic, heavy precipitation, icy conditions, snow drifts, and strong winds are expected.
