A sexologist explained the behavior of a spy detained in Moscow behind women’s fitting rooms

“I just have to look!”

An unpleasant incident occurred recently in a shopping center in the north-west of Moscow: a man was detained who was spying on girls changing clothes in fitting rooms, and even filmed their involuntary striptease on video. “Like a seventh grader!” many will exclaim. And they will be right – as a psychologist-sexologist explained in an interview with an MK correspondent, this behavior of a 33-year-old man means that the sexual sphere of his life was mothballed in adolescence.

Peeping is not a cute prank, but a specific offense: now a 33-year-old Muscovite named Ivan, an employee of the research institute, has been detained, an investigation is underway. He was tied up by the security guards of the shopping center, but before that, for several days, he had successfully filmed on the phone through the cracks in the curtains, as the store’s customers try on clothes and underwear.

The case is not new – if you drive the words “peeping in the fitting room” into the search engine, the system will immediately display a couple of dozen videos of obscene content (the same ones that were filmed by voyeurs). This is a fairly common “anchor” that boys can fall into at puberty and since then fail to overcome addiction. This was told in an interview with the correspondent of “MK” psychologist-sexologist Alexei Lysenko:

– When puberty begins, boys begin to excite in the strongest way everything related to the topic of sex. Until recently, before the advent of porn sites, peeping was the only way to satisfy curiosity. Therefore, the boys peep – just like that or with the help of binoculars, it does not matter. They are all right with the psyche, this is normal. However, if adult men are engaged in this, there is reason to sound the alarm. The fact is that they could have formed a so-called voluptuous anchor: the brain fixed the connection of peeping with sexual arousal, and this is now the only thing that turns them on. Now, for them, secret surveillance is a personal path to sexual satisfaction. Most often this happens if the peeping was especially successful: for example, they saw a full-fledged sexual intercourse. This is where voyeurism comes in: men put micro-cameras on the toe of their shoes, for example, to look under skirts, crawl to changing cabins on the beach, and so on.

According to the expert, peeping is not a purely male problem, but women do it many times less often. The fact is that women’s visual perception and sexuality are not so strongly connected, women are not fixated on the “picture”. Moreover, a woman is more likely to be caught eavesdropping, tk. female arousal is often associated with the auditory channel of perception. Therefore, we probably do not receive reports of women who would spy on men in fitting rooms.

Meanwhile, news of such peeping and video recordings has stirred up another hot topic – on social networks, women complain that they are embarrassed by men who are waiting for their companions near the fitting rooms. Like, how to be sure that the waiting man will not only appreciate the choice of his lady, but at the same time will not admire everyone else? This is especially true in lingerie stores.

“In many fitting rooms, the curtains do not close completely, and if they wish, these men can see you. Yes, and sometimes you just need to call a consultant – and here you are, through a crack, so as not to show yourself nude, trying to call a consultant and, with these interested men, explain what kind of panties you need and where exactly this bra is pressing you, ”complains a Muscovite named Alena .
