A scandal is breaking out in the United States due to a sharp increase in the number of anti-Israeli demonstrations at the country’s universities, RIA Novosti reports.
The high point of the scandal was hearings in the US Congress with the participation of the leadership of leading US higher education institutions. Reportedly, congressmen were extremely dissatisfied with their position, and based on the results of the hearings, they prepared proposals for the dismissal of some university leaders.
For example, Harvard President Claudine Gay did not categorically say that anti-Israel statements do not comply with university rules, and much “depends on the context.” Now she is facing dismissal.
The same goes for the president of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while the head of the University of Pennsylvania, Liz Magill, has already been fired.
