A resident of Novosibirsk had his leg amputated after several incorrect diagnoses. According to information Bazadoctors did not notice his thrombosis several times.

In the winter of 2022, the man felt a sharp pain in his right shin, which almost completely paralyzed him. He had swelling in his knee, swelling in his calf and burgundy spots on his leg. The pain did not subside for several hours. Emergency doctors diagnosed a sprained knee joint and dorsopathy of the spine, after which they administered painkillers to the patient.

However, after some time the pain returned. The man turned to the ambulance paramedics again, but they only repeated the previous diagnosis and recommended going to the emergency room. A subsequent consultation at the emergency room confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of venous thrombosis and indicated the need for hospitalization.

In the emergency department of City Clinical Hospital No. 1, an ultrasound scan of the veins did not find thrombosis. The doctor who saw the patient made a different diagnosis and prescribed medications.

On the fifth day of severe pain, the man went to a paid clinic. By that time he could no longer feel his foot. After examination, doctors immediately operated on the patient, removing necrotic tissue. Then two more operations were performed, the man had to have his lower leg amputated. He became a third group disabled person.
