A Ural truck driver who almost died in front of traffic police officers in the cold due to a stroke was issued two fines. The man’s lawyer spoke about this, writes Podem.

Let us recall that in early January, traffic police inspectors decided that the driver of a heavy truck from the Sverdlovsk region, who committed an accident, was drunk and left him to “sober up” in a cold cab.

The story hit the media, a criminal case was opened, and now it turns out that the police then drew up two reports: for illegal parking and for not wearing a seat belt.

The driver’s lawyer, Sergei Teterin, said that he intends to appeal the fines. He called the situation wild and cynical.

The regional traffic police did not comment on the information about the fines to the publication, since the Investigative Committee is handling the case. The Investigative Committee reported that the incident “is currently being investigated as a criminal case, all circumstances of the situation are being established as part of the investigation.”
