Pensioner Valentina Kotova, who, thanks to the Russian authorities, returned from Mexico to her homeland, was met in Voronezh on the morning of November 17 and taken to a sanatorium. This was reported by an employee of the city administration, Izvestia quotes.
Kotova was temporarily assigned to a boarding house for rest after a long journey. There she will be able to think about where she will live next.
“…if she wishes, she will be provided with qualified medical care and the opportunity to receive advice from a lawyer and other specialists,” the Voronezh administration added.
The woman, her son and his wife sold all their real estate in Russia and went to Mexico to then illegally move to the States. At the checkpoint they were stopped by the migration service, and the family was banned from traveling for some time.
It soon became clear that Kotova’s son’s wife has Ukrainian citizenship, which helped the couple move to America under the program for Ukrainian refugees, but they simply left Valentina in Mexico City without a means of subsistence. Then the woman contacted the consulate.
