The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region reported that a two-year-old girl, who was hospitalized with hypothermia in the city of Serov after she spent several hours in a snowdrift without outer clothing, was connected to a ventilator.

The Ministry of Health’s message states that as of now, the victim is in serious condition and on a ventilator. Representatives of the department added that the child was hospitalized by the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine in one of the Yekaterinburg hospitals.

Earlier, the regional prosecutor’s office reported that the parents of a two-year-old girl, who had gone to work, left their daughter in the care of her older sister last Thursday, and upon returning home for lunch, the father found the child in a snowdrift near the house without signs of breathing or heartbeat. Preliminary data indicate that the girl went outside without outer clothing while her older sister was sleeping.
