Moscow resident Artem S. told Gazeta.Ru about the situation at the checkpoint on the Russian-Kazakh border and how much effort it took for him to get into the neighboring state. The most difficult, according to him, was a thirty-kilometer walk to the village of Akbulak, Orenburg region, where the border crossing is located.
“I flew on a plane to Orenburg, took a car from there. The taxi driver dropped me off 30 kilometers from the border. It is impossible to drive further even along the “oncoming lane” – trucks block the road. I walked for 8 hours, I was very tired, my legs were buzzing. But he crossed the border in just 2 hours, ”said the Russian tourist.
He also noted that on the Kazakh side, despite the large flow of people, one can easily find a taxi to the nearest hotel, where there are empty seats. “There is not much to choose from, everything is packed with Russian tourists of military age,” said Artem S.
The traveler also shared his impression that the Kazakh border guards do not create any problems for those crossing the border.
