A monument to Nevsky with a quote from the Shaman’s song was unveiled in Lipetsk – Kommersant

In Lipetsk, on September 12, a monument to Alexander Nevsky was unveiled, on the pedestal of which there is a quote from Yaroslav Dronov’s (Shaman) song “Let’s Rise.” The opening of the monument was attended by Governor Igor Artamonov and representatives of the city authorities.

The host of the ceremony, as reported by a local publication gorod48.rusaid that the appearance of the monument is directly related to the special operation in Ukraine, and drew attention to the lines from the song placed on the pedestal: “Let us rise, the Heroes of Russia will remain in our hearts until the end” (the punctuation of the text on the plaque has been preserved).

The monument also contains a quote attributed to Alexander Nevsky himself: “God is not in power, but in truth.” In the text of “The Tale of the Life of Alexander Nevsky,” published by Archimandrite Leonid in 1882 (the first editorial office), the prince addressed this phrase to the soldiers of the squad before leaving Novgorod for the battle with the Swedes.

The creation and installation of the monument was financed by four entrepreneurs: Nikolai Bobin, Valery Seshenov, Alexander Pavlov and Stanislav Kamenetsky. The monument was made piece by piece in the Moscow workshop “Lit Art” of sculptor Ilya Korotchenko. The same workshop produced a monument to military police officers, installed in the Patriot Park near Moscow in August, as well as several monuments to those killed during the military operation.

Shaman’s song “Let’s Rise” was released on February 23, 2022. On November 4, an alternative version of the track was released, in the recording of which other performers took part, including Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, Nikolay Baskov, Sergey Lazarev.
