In Moscow, he found groups that collect and send things to Donbass. Then he was advised to join those in Rostov-on-Don, because they were “closer to the main events.” Rutinelli rented an apartment in Taganrog, an hour’s drive from the Veselo-Voznesenka checkpoint, where the refugee aid center is located. “I went by 7 a.m. and finished at 7 p.m.,” he said. “Now the group works in two shifts, until midnight.” He noted that at the beginning of the special operation, when there were a lot of refugees, volunteers worked around the clock.
