Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government Pyotr Biryukov reported that specialists from the Municipal Services Complex have begun the overhaul of passenger berth No. 3 “Kutuzovskoe” in the west of the capital – on the Taras Shevchenko embankment.

The deputy mayor recalled that this structure has never been overhauled since it was put into operation in 1963.

The granite paving of the pier will be updated, concrete surfaces will be restored, granite parapets, steps and landings will be repaired, Biryukov listed the scope of work. In addition, during the major overhaul, mooring and fender devices will be replaced, and a new railing will be installed. The underwater part of the pier will also be put in order.

“Special attention is paid to maintaining city berths in proper condition,” Biryukov emphasized. The head of the Municipal Services Complex added that during the repair work, passage of passengers to water transport will be ensured. Most of what is planned will be carried out from a barge equipped with the necessary equipment, with the involvement of divers. The work is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.
