Among the accused is a 73-year-old pensioner
The Basmanny Court of the capital received a petition from the investigative authorities to select a preventive measure for a group of so-called “fans of the USSR.” This is a group of middle-aged Russians who have been advocating for the restoration of the Soviet Union for the past few years, and have been actively calling for disobedience to the authorities.
As MK learned, the unofficial leader of the movement is considered to be Vera Reunova, a 73-year-old resident of the village of Molokovo near Moscow. She runs her own channel on the Internet, and back in 2022 she made anti-state calls there. A criminal case was opened at the same time. Reunova advocates for the revival of the USSR, organized the issuance of Soviet passports and calls herself “Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.”
Reunova was charged under Articles 205.1 Part 1 and 205.2 Part 2 of the Criminal Code (“Public calls for terrorist activities” and “Inducement to terrorist activities”). On Wednesday, the court granted the request to place her under house arrest. Another accused is Vladimir Kladinov, who considers himself the first deputy “chairman of the Presidium.” The third is also Reunova’s ally, a certain Moskvichev.
