Producer Sergei Pudovkin fell for the bait of scammers on the Internet. All weekend he corresponded with Alexander Buinov, as the producer thought, but it turned out that he was a swindler. Pudovkin almost gave him 10,000 USDT, that is, stablecoins (a type of cryptocurrency). The producer shared the details with MK.

“This happened for the first time in my life. I just read about the so-called deep fakes, and now I’m faced with this. For two days I communicated as if with People’s Artist Alexander Buinov. The communication took place on the Telegram social network. As you understand, I am often in touch with Alexander, and I believed that these messages came from him. But it turned out to be a hoax, Alexander Buinov knew nothing about it, he doesn’t even have this correspondence in Telegram. I found this out when I called him to clarify the details. Thus, there was an attempt to steal 10,000 USDT,” Pudovkin said.

According to Sergei, he will write a statement to law enforcement agencies so that the criminals are found and punished.

“Naturally, we will contact the police. I hope that the criminal case will be initiated very quickly. I don’t know who is behind this, but this situation is extremely dangerous, because everything was very convincing. This thief took Buinov’s video from the Internet and tried to establish confidential contact with me. This is also a warning to all the popular people: you may encounter this. Not everything that comes to you from Telegram from Buynov or other colleagues is true, even if it seems to you that this is the right person. Be vigilant,” Pudovkin concluded.
