The mayor of the Amur city of Tynda, Sergei Gulyaev, reacted to a video of a disabled schoolchild crawling on a bridge. He stated that the situation had already been corrected.

The bridge was damaged by floods back in 2022. The mother of a disabled child said that the boy had to literally crawl to school and clubs. The Investigative Committee began an investigation.

“The Belenky microdistrict is not cut off from the main part of the city. Today residents have the opportunity to travel to the city and back using public transport. Three buses run daily, one of them is a school bus, which transports students and makes seven trips a day,” Gulyaev wrote in on your telegram channel.

He claims that buses run from 7 am to 8:30 pm at intervals of 30 minutes. He explained the situation with the child by saying that local residents were used to getting there via a shorter route – through a damaged bridge.

Gulyaev assured that the city administration has already found a contractor who will carry out design and survey work for the construction of two bridges.

“Until February, the documentation undergoes state examination. Then a state contract for the construction of bridges will be concluded. Construction will begin in 2024,” the mayor wrote.

He also pointed out that moving across the destroyed bridge is life-threatening.
