The author hopes that it will be able to develop decent speed
A winged chair that can fly at decent speed was recently patented by an inventor from Moscow, Vasily Orlov. Recently, Rospatent confirmed the originality of the Russian’s development and issued a patent for it.
Invented by a Muscovite, the “summer wing” is a frame on wheels with a chair and a wing. The main motor with a propeller is installed behind the back of the seat; there are two electric drives on the frame under the wing; they are needed to control the aircraft.
For the first time, a similar aircraft was developed in America for military needs. Its wing was flexible; subsequently, the design of such a wing was used to create hang gliders.
One of the fundamental differences between the Russian invention is that it uses a wing with a rigid frame. The author notes that flexible-wing aircraft can reach speeds of no more than 65 km/h, while coleopterous “birds” can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.
In addition, the inventor developed a simple control system for such a vessel. One electric drive is responsible for raising the sail up and down. For example, the front part of the wing is raised for takeoff. When you need to lower the height, the rear part will rise. Another drive is needed to tilt the wing to the right and left, thus turning the aircraft. Thanks to the simplicity of the control system, the aircraft can be controlled by both the pilot and the operator from the ground.
