Residents were advised to collect documents and evacuate to six prepared temporary accommodation centers. “This is not a hydraulic structure. The dam was intended to correct the movement of water flow within the city,” the regional government told Kommersant.
As Kommersant was told, the prosecutor’s office of the Orenburg region is monitoring the situation in Orsk. Regional prosecutor Ruslan Medvedev went to the city. Due to warming in the Orenburg region, the water level has risen sharply. In the territory of 95 settlements, 1,825 residential buildings and 5,242 household plots were flooded. On the night of April 4, the discharge from the Iriklinsky reservoir on the Ural River increased from 890 to 1672 cubic meters per second. A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the region.
