A bill on free parking for military veterans and members of their families has been submitted to the State Duma
A group of State Duma deputies from the faction “A Just Russia - For Truth,” including Sergei Mironov, Dmitry Gusev, Gennady Semegin and others, submitted to parliament draft amendments to the laws “On Veterans” and “On the Organization of Road Traffic.” Veterans of a special military operation (SVO) and members of their families are proposed to be given the right to use paid parking on a free basis. It is expected that regional or municipal administrations will determine the procedure for providing free parking, in particular, at medical institutions and social facilities.
In the explanatory note, parliamentarians refer to appeals from SVO participants to deputies. “Many of them left wives, children, and elderly parents at home who need help, attention and care,” the document says. “Many wives and parents use a personal car to solve everyday tasks that were previously performed by current SVO participants.”
Today, let us remind you, there is no such benefit in the legislation; separate parking spaces in paid zones are allocated only for holders of resident parking permits.
