Nine police officers were injured during pro-Palestinian protests in London, the Metropolitan Police said in a statement. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.
A total of 126 people involved in the pro-Palestinian protests were reportedly arrested. 82 representatives of far-right movements were also detained.
Police also noted that officers began making arrests as soon as some of the launched fireworks hit officers in the faces. In total, about 2,000 law enforcement officers were involved in maintaining law and order, and reinforcements from other regions were brought to London.
Earlier it was reported that violent clashes between law enforcement officers and opponents of the pro-Palestinian march took place in the British capital. As noted, representatives of far-right movements took an active part in the clashes, who gathered for events on the Day of Remembrance of the Fallen – veterans of wars in which Britain participated. At the same time, the police ensured the security of the march of Palestinian supporters; they had to block aggressive opponents of the action.
In Germany, France, the USA and other countries, after the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, anti-Israel sentiments and rallies in support of Palestine sharply intensified. As reported, on Sunday night, protesters in the United States reached the home of US President Joe Biden in Delaware, demanding to stop attacks on the Gaza Strip.
