15 thousand policemen went to fight in Ukraine – Kommersant

Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that 15 thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs took part in the hostilities in Ukraine. At the same time, 480 of them received state awards.

“About 15 thousand of our employees became its participants, 480 of them were awarded state awards, 630 departmental awards,” said Vladimir Kolokoltsev, quoted by press office MIA.

In addition, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “in the conditions of an extremely difficult operational situation,” the police officers “with dignity and with full dedication” perform their duties on the territory of the Ukrainian regions annexed to Russia.

Vladimir Kolokoltsev awarded special ranks to employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Speaking at the award ceremony, he said: “Thanks to the dedication and courage of the police, especially serious crimes of a terrorist nature have been prevented or solved. Dozens of members of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and their accomplices have been identified and detained. A large number of weapons, ammunition, explosives were seized from caches and caches.

In November 2022 Vladimir Kolokoltsev said52 thousand employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will work in the internal affairs bodies in the annexed regions, while about 2 thousand people will be sent there from other regions.

Speaking in October in the State Duma, Vladimir Kolokoltsev complained for low wages of employees. He drew attention to the shortage of staff in 20% of cases. According to him, this “affects the performance of the whole team.” He called the main reason for this situation “chronic underfunding”. The minister noted that for the first time an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in one of the regions of the Central Federal District receives from 11 thousand to 13 thousand rubles.
