Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree. He received it “for his great contribution to the development of parliamentarism, active legislative activity and many years of conscientious work,” Vedomosti learned.
Vedomosti has a copy of the document. The corresponding presidential decree was signed on April 28, 2023. It has not been published on the Kremlin website. Zyuganov was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, in November 2019.
The fact of awarding the decree was confirmed to Vedomosti by the head of the press service of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, State Duma deputy Alexander Yushchenko.
