Military weapons for civilians have already been delivered to the regions

In the Belgorod and Kursk regions, fighters of voluntary squads began to be provided with military weapons. According to Governor Roman Starovoit, the first batch of weapons has already arrived at a special base, and in the near future it is planned to increase its number to 300 units. Moskovsky Komsomolets found out the conditions for joining the DND, and also found out what a system for issuing weapons to civilians might look like.

According to media reports, there are already several thousand people in the squads in the region. Volunteers will carry out patrols while protecting the streets of settlements and engineering infrastructure, and ensure fire safety in the areas. The small arms they will use are pistols and machine guns.

“The territorial defense has already been created,” military expert Yuri Knutov told MK, “People have been trained, they have been armed with walkie-talkies and drones, there is a question of transferring weapons, but so far it has not been fully resolved at the legislative level.

In any case, preparations are underway: those who have completed special courses are given weapons and ammunition in the National Guard so that they can conduct joint patrols in order to reduce the number of Russian Guard troops stationed in these places and send them to the NVO zone.

– How should the issuance of weapons be organized in order to avoid excesses?

– It can be organized, as in military units. Weapons are stored in special weapons rooms, issued on command, for recording and painting in a special journal. And the Swiss system is also possible, when weapons are stored in an iron box in every house. In such a system, everything is based on self-control, almost all young people after serving in the army keep their uniforms and weapons at home, on alarm they arrive at the training camp already in uniform and with weapons.

When calling the “hot number” of the people’s squad of the Kursk region, those who wish are first of all asked what city they are from. Those who want to be in the squad will have to go through a rigorous selection process, and experience in military service will be a plus.

“If you want to join us, then you must first come to the base point,” a strict man briefly explained to us, “Bring your passport and military ID, if you have one.”

– What are the conditions of “work” in the squad?

We’ll tell you the conditions on the spot. I don’t know you, so I can’t say exactly what you will need to do. First, we have initial training, the training period is from one week, after training we have three stages of volunteer detachments, but we do not talk about them over the phone.

– Do you need to live somewhere “in the fields” during preparation, or can you be at home in the evenings?

– There is a training center in Kursk, you need to live there for a week.

– Do I need to prepare any certificates for training, for example, that I am not registered anywhere?
