Zuckerberg: More than 5 million accounts created on Threads in a few hours

In the first hours after the launch of the Threads application from Meta Corporation (recognized as extremist in Russia), more than five million users registered. This was announced by Mark Zuckerberg, the head of Meta, on his page on this social network, which is an analogue of Twitter.
“We hit the 5 million account mark in the first four hours,” Zuckerberg wrote.
At 7:00 pm ET on July 6, the Threads app became available for download on the US App Store. It is also available for download in Russia, but requires the use of a VPN. Registration in the application is carried out using an Instagram account (banned in Russia and owned by Meta Corporation). As previously reported by Roskomnadzor, Threads will be able to operate in Russia, subject to compliance with legal requirements.
On June 22, Mark Zuckerberg agreed to settle a dispute with Twitter owner Elon Musk in a duel after word surfaced about Meta’s intentions to launch rival Twitter service. The businessmen agreed to hold the fight in Las Vegas. However, Elon Musk’s mother, May Musk, later announced that she canceled her son’s fight with Zuckerberg. At the same time, UFC President Dana White believes that the fight will still take place and will become the most popular in history.
