In the Okonyati Nature Reserve, located in Namibia, employees of the environmental organization Giraffe Conservation Foundation noticed a baby giraffe with almost no spots on its fur.
The light brown calf was walking with its mother, a female giraffe of the usual color.
The giraffe was the first member of its species without spots to be seen in the wild. In 1972, a similar animal was born in a zoo in Japan, and in the summer of 2023 – in a zoo in the United States.
