Zoologists have found that the longest-living dogs are the Lancashire Heeler and the Tibetan Spaniel.
Scientists from Liverpool John Moores University analyzed information on 584,734 and compared the age at which certain dogs had a 50 percent chance of surviving.
Long-lived breeds include the Lancashire Heeler (50 percent of individuals lived to 15.4 years), Tibetan Spaniel (15.2), Shiba Inu (14.6) and Continental Toy Spaniel (14.5).
Half of the representatives of such breeds as the Border Terrier, Lakeland Terrier, Schipperke, Italian Greyhound and Miniature Dachshund also lived to be 14 years old.
