A week before the “tax bomb”

Several million Ukrainian migrants, scattered all over the world after February 24, 2022, tensed in anticipation of the most unpleasant news from their homeland. Already from September 1, many of them will be left without state assistance. The main reason for the changes is the need to save every hryvnia received from the Ukrainian state treasury.

As early as July 11, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers of Denis Shmyhal adopted a resolution regarding some issues of supporting internally displaced persons. Officials considered it necessary to amend the procedure for assigning and extending payments. The Cabinet of Ministers has determined: for all IDPs currently receiving financial assistance, from August 1, 2023, it will be automatically extended for another six months, that is, until the end of January 2024. Assistance will continue to be received by all Ukrainians living in Ukraine and having IDP status in the following amounts: for persons with disabilities and children – UAH 3,000. (7769 rubles), for other persons – 2 thousand UAH. (5179 rubles).

At the same time, the conditions under which payments for IDPs are terminated are determined. From September 1, for example, the state will continue to help only those who really need it. In particular, payments will be terminated to temporarily displaced persons who, since the adoption of this resolution: have purchased a new vehicle (less than 5 years have passed since the year of manufacture, except for vehicles purchased by volunteers and transferred to the needs of the country’s defense); purchased for more than 100 thousand hryvnia

(259 thousand Russian rubles) a land plot, an apartment, a house (except for housing received at the expense of the state or local budget).

Infringement of their own interests will also be felt by those who have funds in a deposit bank account in the total amount of more than 100 thousand UAH, as well as citizens who have purchased foreign currency (except for the currency received from charitable organizations or purchased to pay for medical, social, educational services ), as well as banking metals for a total amount of more than 100 thousand UAH. Lose benefits and people who own housing located in territories where there are no active hostilities or they, territories, are not controlled by the Russian Federation, if such housing has an area of more than 13.65 m² per family member.
