The Ministry of Defense then reported on the suppression of “an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack” of an aircraft-type UAV against objects in Moscow and the Moscow region. Vitusheva clarified that the drone was shot down near the village of Pokrovskoye when it was moving towards Moscow along the M-9 highway (Novorizhskoye highway). “In the light of these events, I again appeal to residents not to discuss or publish footage of the operation of air defense systems anywhere,” she wrote, also publishing photos from the drone crash site.

On August 25, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian air defense systems are working effectively against drone attacks. He urged to remember that the activity on the Ukrainian side is aimed at residential buildings and facilities, so it is not always possible to “avoid some minor damage.”

In mid-August, members of the Federation Council developed a bill that proposes to ban the dissemination in the media and the Internet of photos and videos of shelling sites, drone attacks, the use of air defense systems and other military information. Andrey Klishas, ​​head of the Federation Council committee on constitutional legislation and state building, explained that the innovations are due to the fact that photographs and videos published on the Internet can become a source of information for the enemy.
