On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may travel to Athens to attend a dinner for the leaders of the Western Balkans, RIA Novosti reports citing Greek media.
The event is reportedly hosted by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
At the same time, the Greek authorities refused to comment on the possible arrival of Zelensky. Earlier, the press service of the Prime Minister of Greece announced plans to hold an informal meeting of the leaders of the countries of the Western Balkans and the countries of the EU region on August 21, and the arrival of EU officials was also expected.
Greece was one of the first in the West to send weapons and military equipment to Ukraine after the start of a special military operation. At the same time, Athens refused to send modernized Leopard 2A6 tanks and Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems to the Kyiv regime. This step is justified by the unwillingness to weaken the Greek army.
