Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “overdosed” when he made his next statement regarding the Ukrainian conflict.
Earlier, a video appeared on Zelensky’s Telegram channel in which he, at a press conference in Denmark, responds to a journalist’s request to comment on proposals to exchange part of Ukraine’s territories for NATO membership, saying that he is ready to “exchange Belgorod for NATO membership.”
Zakharova, commenting on Zelensky’s statement to RIA Novosti, said: “apparently, he overdosed.”
Earlier, the head of the NATO Secretary General’s office, Stian Jenssen, told the Norwegian newspaper VG that Ukraine could get membership in the alliance in exchange for ceding part of its territories to Russia. He later defended himself for what he said, saying that his words should not be taken literally, as they were “part of a larger discussion about possible future scenarios.”
