Russia’s military doctrine presupposes a response by all possible means of armament to an attack on Belarus, Russian Ambassador to the Republic Boris Gryzlov said at the II International Anti-Fascist Congress in Minsk. His words leads TV channel STV.

“President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin clearly said that within the framework of the Union State, in the event of an attack on the territory of Belarus, we will consider this an attack on Russia. The military doctrine of the Russian Federation assumes in this case a response with all our possible weapons,” he stressed.

In early November 2021, Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the Union State’s integration decree, which approved all 28 union programs, as well as the military doctrine and migration concept. The fundamentals of the military policy of the doctrine of the Union State say that the participating states “express their firm determination to ensure military security with all the forces and means at their disposal in accordance with international law.”

At the end of July, the situation on the border between Belarus and Poland escalated. The Polish side stated that the Wagner PMC fighters, based in the republic, violated the border. On August 1, the Ministry of National Defense of Poland stated that two Belarusian helicopters violated the country’s airspace during exercises near the village of Belovezha. Belarus denied the accusations and stated that in this way the Polish side justifies the build-up of troops near the borders.
