Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, informed about the creation of a dangerous situation in the country’s sky by an international coalition aircraft that violated the Deconflict Protocols and Syrian airspace.
According to the admiral, on August 19 between 11:55 and 12:03 in the area of Et-Tanf there was a dangerous convergence of F-35 fighters of the “coalition” and the Su-35 of the Russian Aerospace Forces at an altitude of 9 thousand meters. Russian pilots, demonstrating high professionalism, successfully prevented a collision.
In just 24 hours, 16 violations of the Protocols of deconfliction by the “coalition” were recorded. These violations included uncoordinated UAV flights. Kulit also reported 16 violations in the al-Tanf area by three pairs of F-35 fighter jets, as many pairs of “coalition” F-16s, a pair of Rafal fighters, and a pair of MQ-1C multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicles.
These actions, according to the Russian military commander, continue to create conditions for aviation incidents and aggravate the situation in the airspace of Syria.
