Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is “not holding on” to power and wants to hold elections. He said this on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon.
He noted that elections cannot be held during martial law. But if the necessary conditions are met and the West allocates money, then voting can still be organized. Zelensky also said that he did not want to “fantasy” about how Ukraine would live without elections for three, five, seven years.
“I don’t want the attitude to power that it holds. I don’t hold on to anything. I would like to hold elections,” he said.
