Zelensky imposed sanctions against Georgian Airways and almost 300 Russian companies

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a decree imposing sanctions against 192 people, most of whom are Russian citizens. Legal entities also fell under the restrictions – a total of 291 companies. This is stated on the website of the Ukrainian President.

Zelensky’s decree puts into effect the decision on sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. The restrictions include the blocking of assets, a ban on payment transactions, as well as the withdrawal of funds from Ukraine. Sanctions against individuals are introduced for five years, companies – for five and ten years.

The sanctions list of Ukraine also includes companies from Belarus, Georgia and Kazakhstan. In particular, Zelensky approved measures against the Georgian airline Georgian Airways and the chairman of the board of directors of the carrier, Tamaz Gaiashvili. Earlier, this company resumed flights to Russia.

After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Zelensky began to impose blocking sanctions on a regular basis. Usually they concern individuals and organizations that, according to Kyiv, are associated with the Russian authorities. In particular, citizens and companies from Armenia, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the USA, etc. have already fallen under the restrictions. In June, the President of Ukraine imposed sanctions against the chairman of the Constitutional Court (CC) of Russia Valery Zorkin, as well as against 10 more judges.
