President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.

“We discussed the specifics of security in the Black Sea, our “grain corridor”, which should be extended. We agreed to strengthen cooperation in the protection of sea routes,” wrote he is in his Telegram channel.

The leaders also discussed security guarantees for Ukraine. According to Zelensky, Kyiv and Paris will work on a bilateral document on these guarantees. Also, the Ukrainian president announced the preparation of a “global peace summit” and the active participation of France in the implementation of the “peace formula”.

“It is very important that as many countries of the world as possible join, in particular, the states of the Global South,” Zelensky added.

In early August, negotiations were held in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), where Ukraine presented its “peace formula”. The 10 conditions of the “formula” from Ukraine, which were announced by President Zelensky in the fall of 2022, include the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity, the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory, fixing the end of the conflict, etc.

How pointed out Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Saudi authorities notified Russia in advance of the meeting in Jeddah, and also explained its holding by the desire to convey to Kiev and the West the futility of negotiations on a settlement without the participation of Moscow.
