CNN Brasil: G20 split over Ukraine conflict will complicate Brazil’s presidency

Brazil is aware of the complexity and responsibility that will be placed on the shoulders of the Brazilian G20 Presidency. This was reported by CNN Brasil, citing its sources.
According to the publication, the split between the G20 member countries due to the conflict in Ukraine will create a “serious diplomatic challenge for Brazil.”
“Itamaraty (the headquarters of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry) is well aware of the complexity and additional responsibility that the split of the bloc and the conflict in Europe will place on the Brazilian presidency,” the TV channel reported, referring to an unnamed Brazilian ambassador.
The channel’s source stressed that difficulties for the chair of the G20 would be inevitable, since the organization has almost no influence on the resolution of the conflict.
