Zelensky accused Putin of not wanting peace

Russian President Vladimir Putin made a statement about the immutability of the goals of the Russian special military operation – this means that people do not want peace. This statement was made on Tuesday, December 19, by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
As the Ukrainian politician noted, the issue of peaceful negotiations on a diplomatic settlement of the conflict with Russia is not currently on the agenda.
At the same time, Zelensky said that a common position of Ukraine and fifty other states is currently being developed regarding the “peace formula” proposed by the Ukrainian president; as soon as it is formulated, it will be transferred to Russia.
Moscow has repeatedly emphasized that the special operation will continue until its goals are achieved. At the same time, the Russian side expressed full readiness for negotiations, noting the preference for the diplomatic method of resolving disagreements. At the same time, the conditions that Kyiv put forward for the resumption of the negotiation process are unacceptable for Russia.
Vladimir Putin said that Russia will negotiate something with Ukraine only based on its own interests. He warned that “We won’t give up what’s ours – that’s what everyone should understand”.
