Three settlements in Berdyansk received Russian gas, later it will be supplied to Melitopol and the Melitopol region, said Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevhen Balitsky. This happened as part of the connection of the region to the unified gas transportation system of the Russian Federation. After Ukraine disconnected the region from gas supply, the Russian authorities announced the creation of the Berdyansk-Melitopol gas pipeline.
“9 boiler houses in Berdyansk, 3 public utilities, a bakery, Berdyansk ZhBK and a nursing home were put into operation. By Monday evening, about 500 private sector subscribers were connected, and now the launches of the multi-apartment sector are underway,” wrote the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region in Telegram channel.
According to him, the gas is within the borders of the Zaporozhye region, the distribution network is being blown and filled, and the testing of the main gas pipelines has been completed.
In mid-July, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin instructed the Ministry of Energy to quickly work out the issue of gasification of the Zaporozhye region. The department developed a plan for laying the Berdyansk-Melitopol gas pipeline with a length of more than 100 km. In August, head of the government of Zaporozhye region Anton Koltsov on the air of the TV channel “For TV” informed about the start of work.
