The fighters of the Zaporozhye Sudoplatov Volunteer Battalion (BARS-32) signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. This was announced by the Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.
“Today we are BARS-32. We went to the Ministry of Defense, and all the weapons that were acquired by the battalion, including tanks and self-propelled artillery mounts, were transferred today to the 58th Army, ”said Mr. Balitsky (quoted by RIA Novosti). According to him, the battalion is already serving as part of the 58th Army.
The Volunteer Battalion named after Pavel Sudoplatov was created in the Zaporozhye region in September 2022 at the initiative of Evgeny Balitsky. The fact that he will become part of the RF Armed Forces, Yevgeny Balitsky said back in April.
To date, the Ministry of Defense has signed contracts with at least ten volunteer formations. The first volunteer battalion to sign a contract became “Akhmat”.
The order on the transition of volunteer formations to the joint group of troops was signed in March. Volunteer battalions must conclude contracts with the Ministry of Defense before July 1. President Vladimir Putin thinksthat PMC fighters and volunteer battalions need to conclude contracts with the Ministry of Defense.
