The first two independent candidates registered for the mayoral elections in Moscow. The first of them is Alexander Gorlov, a 59-year-old electrician from Saratov. The second candidate, 33-year-old Iosif Dzhagaev, who is the general director of one of the companies, is not a resident of the Russian Federation.
Both participants in the elections do not belong to the category of foreign agents. Earlier, on Wednesday, the current mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, personally submitted documents to the Moscow City Electoral Commission to register his candidacy.
The single voting day in Russia is scheduled for September 10, 2023. On June 8, the Moscow City Electoral Commission decided to hold elections for the mayor of Moscow within three days, from September 8 to 10.
